Inside and outside painting in BournemouthBournemouth decorator
Mike Gater paints and papers homes across Bournemouth: lounges, kitchens, bedrooms, halls, stairs and landings, plus the outside of the house.
Mike Gater is a painter and decorator in Bournemouth who takes on single rooms, whole ground floors and house exteriors. Customers say he gives a clear, fair quote and start date, sticks to them, and leaves the house clean and tidy each day.
Reviews also mention the extras: meticulous prep on new plaster and tired woodwork, being happy to add wallpapering mid-job, even painting the inside of cupboard doors. Mike is often booked a few weeks ahead, which one customer called "this pairs biggest testimonial."
Lounges, dining rooms, kitchens and bedrooms painted to a very high standard, from one room to the whole ground floor. Furniture and floors are protected, and customers say the house is left as tidy as possible at the end of each day.
Hallways, staircases and landings painted top to bottom, including spindles, handrails, doors and skirtings. Several of Mike's reviews are for hall, stairs and landing jobs, often done alongside the lounge and kitchen, with the whole stairway left looking fresh.
Feature walls and full rooms papered neatly, from busy floral prints in a child's bedroom to added wallpaper on a stairway. Customers say his papering looks amazing, and one booked him back in for more of the same.
Newly plastered walls sealed and painted, and woodwork that needs remedial work repaired before any paint goes on. Customers describe his preparation as meticulous, which is why the finish looks so clean and lasts well.
House fronts, render, bay windows, frames, porches and front doors painted so the whole house looks smart from the street. Mike's photos show full exteriors repainted, from white render with grey detailing to window frames and sills.

From painting inside cupboard doors to hanging a blind and mirrors at the end of the job.
Mike and Paul painted my kitchen, lounge and staircase. The work was carried out to a very high standard and the house left clean and tidy each day.
Mike provided a clear estimate and start date which he adhered to, both are professional and pleasant.
They went above and beyond, painting the interior of cupboard doors, which hadn't been included in the original quote and hanging a blind and mirrors on competition of the job.
I felt completely comfortable leaving them alone in the house to lock up when they left.
The fact that you might have to wait a few weeks for the work to begin is this pairs biggest testimonial.
A 5 star service.
Highly recommend.
Mike is a professional from start to finish.
Mike painted our porch, stairway and a bedroom. The work included some newly plastered areas and woodwork that needed remedial work done before it could be painted. Mike was meticulous in his preparation. He was flexible and happy to change the brief when we added in some wallpapering which looks amazing. All work was completed on time to an excellent standard. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Mike gave us a very fair quote to paint our lounge, dining room, kitchen, a bedroom and the hall, stairs and landing. He was also accurate about the time required to complete the task. All work was carried out to a very high standard and he always left the house as tidy as possible each day. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone seeking a professional and friendly decorator!
We have had the pleasure of having Mike redecorate 3 of our Ground floor rooms this last week and for anyone looking he has been clean, tidy, polite and have found the quality of his work exceptional. Would not hesitate to recommend his services for painting and papering. So much so he is booked back in again later in the year for more of the same.
Mike did a really beautiful job wallpapering my daughter’s bedroom. He was really professional, arrived on time and was super clean and tidy. We will definitely be using him again! I can’t recommend him enough!
